Why the concept of hate speech is a myth

The other day I heard someone repeat the oft-quoted mantra that

Truth is hate to those who hate the truth

and I asked myself: if we accept the premise that we may silence people by tagging them with the "hate speech" label, who gets to define hate speech? The answer is the same digital tech overlords who violate our privacy and seek to silence conservatives.

Worse, the blatant anti liberty bias of the media will be enshrined in the standard for hate speech -- it is guaranteed that attempts to save the lives of the unborn will be tagged as hate speech against women but speech supporting late term abortion will not be hate speech against children. As Orwell taught us, both speech crime and thought crime must be suppressed.

Does Covid-19 have a cruel moralistic (and political) agenda of its own?

As the national lockdown continues to ravage our economy and destroy any vestige of liberty (#EndtheLockdown), we are now hearing more and more advice about how to avoid the contagion of the virus from Wuhan, China (#WuhanVirus) especially in regards to our lifestyle.  On the one hand we have no quarrel with the wisdom of wearing a mask in certain situations, or keeping those who are especially vulnerable as isolated as possible. But we note the advice now appears to have taken a moralistic turn.  We are told to stay indoors, avoid the gym, and indeed, Democratic governors (and socialists around the world) are having people arrested for all sorts of solitary outdoors activities, like dog walking, sitting on a bench, or paddle boarding alone (#CovidNazis).
